April 30th-May 2nd- Guida Brown, Executive Director at the Hope Council

Living in a home with an alcoholic parent, Guida Brown decided to turn a negative into a positive. She has been giving back to those affected by alcohol and drugs for many years as the Executive Director of The Hope Council. Her perseverance and strength is appreciated by her peers and those she serves. On the program we discuss drug and alcohol abuse and how the Hope Council can help people overcome their demons. The Hope Council is also launching its initiative called "I am Special" which aims to help children whose parents deal with substance abuse feel special and appreciated. Now that is a full circle moment!

April 23-26th: Alderman Scott Gordon and Family

Courtesy:Scott Gordon
Alderman Scott Gordon overcame tremendous odds. He was kicked off the ballot and fought his way back on. With 11 days to spare, he won the primary and then the election. His family was with him every step of the way to victory! It was a pleasure having Scott, his son Lance, and wife Phyllis on the program to talk about this historic race, the tribulations along the way, and how they overcame them all!

Sad news

Sad to report that Dick Clark has died. He was a cultural influence who paved the way for everyone in the business today. He was one of my idols. Our prayers are with his family and friends. We will miss him so much!

Part 2 With Ray Misner airs this Wednesday, April 11.

It was controversial all the way around. Part 1 of my interview with Ray Misner was historic! In fact it was so historic that it couldn't be contained in one episode. Part Two of my worldwide exclusive with Ray Misner airs This Wednesday,  April 11 at 5:00PM. We discuss Wal-mart at length as well as the "Culture of Fear" within the City Council. Its riveting, controversial and only on The Troy McDonald Show.

Troy's Favorite Things: Inanimate Heroes

Zack W. Van's revealing tale of a young man reaching his potential through many obstacles epitomizes what the "The Troy McDonald Show" is all about. In his frank, honest portrayal of a gay teen , W. Van gives hope to those in need of inspiration. Its because of this that I have named "Inanimate Heroes" as our first ever "Favorite Thing". This is an important, informative read that I think will open your eyes and get you to think a little differently. You can purchase the book from the following outlets. The book will download on your e-reader, Kindle, and on iBooks

If you do not have an e-reader device, "Inanimate Heroes" is also available for download straight to your computer.
